Flags on UBC’s Okanagan campus will be lowered on Friday, February 12, in memory of Dr. Richard Garvin, who passed away on January 6, 2016, in Vernon, BC.
Dr. Garvin was an associate professor in the Community, Culture and Global Studies unit of the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences.
A gathering to celebrate Dr. Garvin’s life will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Schubert Centre, 3505 – 30th Avenue, Vernon, BC, from 2 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Dr. Richard Garvin Memorial Fund at UBC Okanagan in care of the Development Office, 1138 Alumni Avenue, Kelowna BC, V1V 1V7.
