Flags on the UBC Okanagan campus will be lowered on July 31, 2021, in memory of student Gabriel Dix, who passed away in Kelowna on July 13, 2021.
Gabriel completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics and Masters of Health and Exercise Sciences at UBC Okanagan. At the time of Gabriel’s untimely passing, he was preparing to take the MCAT as his dream was to become a physician and help those in greatest need.
A UBC Memorial Fund has been created to pay tribute to Gabriel by supporting students at UBC Okanagan. On July 31, 2021, a celebration of life will be held. Our sincere condolences to Gabriel’s family, friends and colleagues.
