Flags on the UBC Okanagan campus will be lowered on Friday, February 3, 2017, in memory of Dr. Claire Budgen, who passed away at her home in Kelowna on Tuesday, January 3.
Dr. Budgen was Associate Professor Emerita of Nursing in the Faculty of Health and Social Development. Prior to retiring in 2016, Dr. Budgen was instrumental in improving the health and wellness of the Okanagan campus community, through her role as principal investigator on campus health and most recently as Wellbeing Project lead for UBC Okanagan. She was chair of the International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges in 2015, which produced the International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges, known internationally as the Okanagan Charter.

Celebrations of Life:

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on February 5, 2017 at the Coast Capri Hotel (1171 Harvey Ave, Kelowna, BC).
Tuesday, March 7
The campus community will gather at 3:30 p.m. in the University Centre ballroom. All are welcome. Please contact Melissa Feddersen for further information.
